Geology: Precambrian granite porphyry and rhyolitic quartz porphyry.
Vault Conditions: The STS-2 sensor is installed in a special casing directly on the floor of a tunnel.
Site Description: The vault is situated 180m into a N-S oriented tunnel (The Bloch Observatory) drilled into Mt Amram, 15km north of the city of Eilat. Several tight metal doors shield the vault from the outside. The station is co-located with different other geophysical instruments.
