Greetings, the FDSN meetings will take place in Prague in late June.

I believe the first FDSN Plenary will take place on June 26th and the 2nd Plenary will take place on June 30. The meeting dates do not seem to be posted yet on the FDSN web site so they should be confirmed.

FDSN WGIII is scheduled to meet on June 29 from noon until 2:30PM in room 3.1.

I hope to focus FDSN WGIII discussions on two items

1. Federating the FDSN data centers

2. establishing a framework through which FDSN Quality Assurance can be standardized.

That said I would be happy to add other items to the agenda if anyone has something they wish to include, please send me other agenda items within two weeks and before June 28th 2015.

Please also let me know if you plan to attend the FDSN meetings this year

Cheers and I hope to see many of you in Prague

  • Dear Tim, dear all,

Thanks for the info. We agree that the two items the you suggest are
high priority for the community and for the datacenters.

We would like to draw the attention of the FDSN Working Group III to a
tricky issue: Quite a lot of data is duplicated in several places, but
not subsequently kept synchronized with later versions which might be
corrected (for incorrect instrument responses, timing errors, ...). It
is therefore of high priority to have the necessary tools to handle this
issue, to be able at any time direct the user to the 'reference' data
set. It is of course the prerogative of the network operators to
indicate in which datacenter the user can find the reference dataset.

This was already a feature of netdc, implemented based on the netdc
routing tables, and we need to find solutions for the new tools that
    should be developed.

    Best regards
