YKW3 - STATION INSTRUMENTATION

DATES OF OPERATION: 3 Sep 1989 to present.

SEISMOMETER TYPE:       Streckeisen STS-1V/VBB; STS-1H/VBB

DIGITAL FORMAT:
Streckeisen Model STS-1V/VBB; STS-1H/VBB.

EVENT DETECTION:
At the Canadian National Seismology Data Centre (CNSDC), continuous data are
archived onto 12" SONY optical disk platters; the CNSN 4-band frequency
domain event detector creates a list of "refined detections" for further
post processing, including automatic locations.

COMMENTS
The Yellowknife Seismic Array, completely rebuilt in 1989, consists of 18 short
period out-stations with 1 Hz seismometers sampling at 20 s/sec (decimated from
800) with a maximum input of 1.68mm peak-peak ground motion; 1 high frequency
outstation with 3 orthogonal 1 Hz seismometers sampling at 100 s/sec (decimated
from 800 ) with a maximum input of 1.68mm peak-peak ground  motion, and;
4 broadband out-stations with Streckeisen 360 second broadband seismometers
sampling at 20 s/sec (decimated from 300) with a maximum input of 18.2mm
peak-peak ground motion.
