DATES OF OPERATION:     01 Oct 1986 to Present.

SEISMOMETER TYPE:
Streckeisen Model STS-1 three component system for all broadband, long period 
and very long period data.  The Model DJ-1 seismometer, manufactured in China, 
for all short period data.

DIGITAL FORMAT:
16 bit gain-ranged data words for all components.  
Range: +1,048,576 to -1,048,448 counts.

EVENT DETECTOR ALGORITHM:
The Murdock event detector (Murdock, 1983) is used for the short period and
mid period data.

COMMENTS:
A description of the China Digital Seismograph Network (CDSN) is available 
in a joint report by the State Seismological Bureau and the Albuquerque  
Seismological Laboratory (ASL) available through the ASL.
 
Some data from MDJ is directly available through IRIS or the USGS.  This  
data was forwarded by the State Seismological Bureau when problems developed 
with the Hailar station.  These time frames are: 27 Dec 1987 to 20 Feb 1988,  
10 Apr 1989 to 23 Oct 1989 and from 18 May 1991 to present.
