FDSN Network Information

FDSN code XV (2011-2013) Network name INVESTIGATION OF SOURCES OF INTRAPLATE VOLCANISM USING PASSCAL BROADBAND INSTRUMENTS IN MADAGASCAR, THE COMORES, AND MOZAMBIQUE (MACOMO)
Start year 2011 Operated by
  • Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL), United States of America
End year 2013 Deployment region
Description

This is a two year, 27 station deployment of broadband sensors in Madagascar. We plan to use body wave tomography, surface wave tomography, shear wave splitting and receiver function studies. These will be used to investigate the lithospheric structure of the region and investigate the causes of Neogene intraplate volcanism in the area.
