FDSN Network Information

FDSN code XK (2010-2010) Network name Big Horn Project Regional Array Deployment (BHRA)
Start year 2010 Operated by
  • Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), United States of America
End year 2010 Deployment region -
Description

We will deployment three five-element arrays in conjunction with the NSF-funded Big Horn project (PIs Anne Sheehan and Kate Miller) over a six month period to record regional earthquakes, mining explosions, and dedicated single fired explosions. The array locations are tentatively proposed to be in Cody, WY, Shell, WY, and a third location in eastern WY that is TBD. The regional arrays may replace several of the short-period stations (total of 170) that will be installed during the same period for the experiment.
