| Description |
The South Armorican Shear Zone concentrates most of the instrumental seismicity in north-west France. The region between Lorient and Vannes is the area in which the largest instrumental and historical earthquakes have occurred in Brittany. We have also observed swarms of low magnitude earthquakes in 2021 and 2024. Notably, the 2024 swarm was characterized by several M3 events that were felt by the population. |
