FDSN Network Information

FDSN code C2 Network name Canadian National Geomagnetic Network
Start year 1916 Operated by
End year - Deployment region Canada
Description

Magnetic observatories are permanent measuring stations with vector and scalar magnetometer sensors that monitor the geomagnetic field to very high accuracy over time scales ranging from seconds to decades and beyond. They require environments that remain stable over many years and that are free from significant cultural (magnetic) interference. Data is transmitted in miniSEED format and shares the infrastructure of the Canadian National Seismic Network (CNSN, network code CN).
