| Description | This is a subset of an EU funded project on environmental seismology (EnvSeis), with this component looking to study bedload transport during flash floods in several river systems around the world (US, Japan, Israel, Taiwan, Austria). This is a part of the larger EU-funded EnvSeis (https://www.envseis.eu/) program. My colleague John Laronne (Ben Gurion University) and I co-advise PhD student Aiswarya Padmadas, who is exploring seismic data collected at many river sites around the world. Our Israeli colleagues have just built new in-river infrastructure of sediment traps within the Nahal Anim located in central Israel, and these nodes would be deployed during the first winter of site operation so that we can determine subsurface structure and hopefully record signals of a flash flood in this ephemeral stream. |
