FDSN Network Information

FDSN code 2V (2019-2020) Network name Along-Dip Segmentation of the Slip Behavior and Rheology of the Copiapó Ridge, Chile (Esperanza Atacama)
Start year 2019 Operated by
End year 2020 Deployment region -
Description

The network aims to complete the permanent and semi-permanent stations in the Atacama region, Chile, focusing on the subduction of the Copiapo Ridge and its influence on the seismic activity. In order to enhance the density of observations, 10 instruments have been installed in 2 different settings, for 4 months each, monitoring 20 temporary sites in total. Instruments are Guralp 40T sensors (30 s - 50 Hz) equipped with Nanometrics Taurus dataloggers, registering continuously at 100 Hz.
