FDSN Working Group III

FDSN Working Group III on Coordination of Products, Tools and Services

This group was established at the 2007 FDSN meeting in Perugia Italy.

FDSN WGIII will identify standard products that may be produced by FDSN data centers. It will advocate product uniformity and methods of production for FDSN products. It will advocate development and distribution of standard software tools that will support the production of FDSN products.

The goal of FDSN WGIII is to coordinate the creation of uniform products at participating FDSN data centers. It will also attempt to standardize services and share tools that produce FDSN approved products.

populate FDSN data center registry

Hi Is there a reason that the FDSN data center registry cannot be populated with the existing data centers from the legacy list? While it would be best if each data center would update their own information, that has not happened and it seems a shame for the legacy list to be so much more complete. Copying the information for any datacenter that has not already updated themselves seems an easy solution. thanks Philip

New FDSN data center registry, ready for use

Dear FDSN members, At this summer's FDSN meeting in Montreal, EIDA and IRIS presented a prototype data center registry to be hosted on www.fdsn.org <http://www.fdsn.org/>. The registry contains a listing of data centers, which services are offered, and optionally which data sets are available from each. Each data center registers and controls their own entry. Project repositories for web service specifications

Dear Working Group III members, At the FDSN meetings I received a suggestion/request for making GitHub repositories for each web service in order to track issues, etc. This seems a rather good idea, and provides a way to openly track issues and suggestions along with their related discussions.
