Vault Conditions: The STS-2 sensor is installed directly on the floor of the mine using a special casing. The casing is placed with its legs on brass bars, which are embeded in the anhydrite rock. Temperature stability is excellent. | |
Site Description: The station is located in an ancient gypsum mine about 700 m horizontally distance from the mine entrance and about 80 m below surface. It is co-located with different gravimeters, a tilt meter and a short period station of the Belgian Seismological Network | |
