Vault Conditions: The STS-2 sensor is installed in a special casing on the concrete floor of a former military bunker.
Site Description: The site is located on the NW corner of Ruegen Island about 2 km from the shore of the Baltic Sea. The bunker is one of many on a former military base. Only minor local activities. The site is rather noisy in terms of high frequencies and micro seismic due to the geolog y and the location near the sea.
