EVENT DETECTOR ALGORITHIM:
At the Canadian National Seismology Data Centre (CNSDC), continuous data are
archived onto 12" SONY optical disk platters; the CNSN 4-band frequency
domain event detector creates a list of "refined detections" for further
post processing, including automatic locations.

COMMENTS: This new location started operation in 1993, replacing the former
1-component vertical analogue station (WHC) that had been in operation since
28 September 1971 and enhanced to a 3-component layout on 28 November 1974.
The earlier site had become too noisy as the city expanded.
