FDSN Network Information

FDSN code YB (2018-2021) Network name Deep Fault Structure Beneath the Mojave from a High Density, Passive Seismic Profile (Mojave Experiment)
Start year 2018 Operated by
  • University of Texas at Austin, United States of America
End year 2021 Deployment region
Description

This project is a dense line roughly west-east through the Mojave Trails National Monument and one station in the Mojave National Preserve with station spacing ~2-4km and total length ~40km. The sensors are Metrozet/Kinemetrics MBB2s attached to Guralp Minimus dataloggers. We will record at 1 sample per second and 100 samples per second. Our goal is to determine local seismicity in the region and analyze structures related to fault zone deformation, particularly any evidence of anisotropy.
