FDSN Network Information

FDSN code XI (2014-2014) Network name Long Beach Broadband or LA Syncline Seismic Interferometry Experiment (LBB or LASSIE)
Start year 2014 Operated by
  • NodalSeismic, United States of America
End year 2014 Deployment region
Description

The Los Angeles Syncline Seismic Interferometry Experiment aims to image the deep structure of the Los Anglese Basin syncline. Our intent is to use ambient noise cross correlations to generate Rayleigh and shear wave velocity models down to a depth of 5 km. These velocity products will be used to improve our understanding of the tectonic and structural history of the Los Angeles Basin.
