FDSN Network Information

FDSN code 3A (2019-2019) Network name JPL Active Source Balloon Infrasound Experiment at EMRTC (JPL EMRTC AUG 2019)
Start year 2019 Operated by
  • Jet Propulsion Laboratory, NASA (JPL), United States of America
End year 2019 Deployment region
Description

We will be exploding four chemical charges at EMRTC of various strengths up to 50 kg TNT equivalent (buried up to 10 feet deep). Charges will be measured by balloon-borne infrasound sensors (JPL provided), as well as ground-based seimometers (borrowed from IRIS PASSCAL). Experiment will take place on Thursday Aug 22. Friday Aug 23 is backup day, and Wednesday Aug 21 is a practice day for setup. JPL personnel will fly into ABQ on Tues Aug 20.
