Description

In August 2017 we deployed a temporary seismic network, the Lerma Valley Ring Installation of Seismometers (LEVARIS) around the city of Salta. This network covered the central and northern parts of the Lerma Valley and operated for a total of thirteen months. The LEVARIS network extended over 80 km in a north-south direction and 30 km in an east-west direction, with stations strategically located to ensure security, accessibility, and minimal interference from anthropogenic noise sources. The seismic stations were equipped with Lennartz 3D/5s 3-component sensors and in one case with a short period Mark L4C-3D buried at a depth of approximately 60 cm. The data-acquisition process was conducted using DATA-Cube3 type 2 digitizers at a sampling rate of 100 Hz. The power supply was provided by batteries charged with solar panels.
